Is your first aid course ASQA approved and nationally recognised?

Yes, our HLTAID003 Provide first aid course is.  This course supersedes HLTFA311A Apply First Aid and the older Senior First Aid. All first aid training courses are now administered by Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

What happens if I fail my exam or assessment?

You may choose to re-sit your exam, or join another class by calling our office to see which courses are available.

Can I transfer to another course?

Yes. If your transfer request is made 7 or more days before the course date, one free transfer is allowed. Any subsequent transfers will incur transfer charges.  If your transfer request is made less than 7 days before the course transfer fees will apply. Please select your course dates and venue carefully. You cannot transfer from a course if the course has already occurred.

Can I cancel my course?

Yes. However, if you choose to cancel your course 7 or more days before the course date a cancellation fee will apply. If you cancel your course 7 days or less before your course date, no refund will be provided.

Is lunch provided?

No. We have chosen our venue locations with access to either a café or eatery nearby.

How many people will be in the course?

We try to limit the number of students in our courses in order to give adequate personal attention. Most courses have less than 20 students.

What do I need to bring to a course?

You need to bring your completed workbook and some form of identification. You may want to bring a towel for your knees (for first aid and CPR) and any refreshments you may need during the day. Pen and paper may be useful.

How old do I have to be to attend a course?

The minimum age requirement for a student to attend a course is 14.

What do I get as course inclusions?

Each student will receive a first aid manual or booklet, question and answer sheet and your statement of attainment (if deemed to be competent). Provide First Aid Students will receive a triangular bandage, crepe bandage, face shield, and the use of a manikin between 2 students.

Can I bring an interpreter to the course?

Yes. Please advise us prior to the course so that we can make suitable arrangements.

How long does a course take to complete?

Do you have other venues than those published on the website?

No. However, if you have a group of students requiring training we can come to your premises.

Can I get Laerdal Mask Training?

Yes. This training is conducted in conjunction with a CPR or Provide First Aid course. Please advise us at the time of booking as charges apply.

What is Fastrack and how does it work?

Fastrack is a one (1) day HLTAID003 Provide first aid course. Students need to pay for their course at least 7 days prior to the course date in order to receive your First Aid Manual which contains 44 multiple choice questions making up the theory component of this course. These questions must be completed prior to attending the practical training day. The study of the manual and answering of the questions will likely take around 3-4 hours and is an open book test.

Do you go on-site for training?

Yes. We can come to your premises at a time and date that suits you. Please advise 3 dates, so as we can organise for a trainer to be available on one of your chosen dates. Please complete an obligation free onsite training quote.

Do you do offer customised training?

Yes. We can customise training courses on Asthma, Anaphylaxis, Workplace Safety, Manual Handling plus many more. If you would like certain topics covered suitable to your workplace, we are more than happy to deliver this as well. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

How long will my statement of attainment last for?

That depends on the certificate.

  • HLTAID003 Provide first aid statement of attainment, including Fastrack, is valid for 3 years.
  • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation statement of attainment is valid for 1 year.
  • HLTAID007 Provide advanced resuscitation statement of attainment is valid for 1 year.
  • HLTSS00027 Occupational First Aid Skill Set statement of attainment is valid for 3 years.

If my first aid statement of attainment (SoA) last 3 years, where do I stand regarding the CPR component of the course?

Based on the packaging of the first aid units of competency, the CPR component (HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation) has been completely built into the HLTAID first aid courses from HLTAID002 up to HLTAID006. Though the first aid courses themselves are current for 3 years, the CPR component of the qualification needs to be refreshed annually.

What happens if I lose my certificate?

If you lose your certificate, you can use your student log in and download it again. Otherwise, you can also contact us to resend your login details if you have forgotten.

What if I want a hard copy?

We charge a flat rate of $25 + GST for certificate reprints.

PAYMENTS

How can I pay?

You can pay by Visa, Mastercard or Direct Deposit. No seats will be reserved without payment.

Can I get an account?

If it is your first booking with Medilife, we require payment prior to confirm booking. If you wish to invoice future transactions, you can apply for a credit account here.

Do I get a receipt for my course?

Yes. All public course students will receive a tax invoice/receipt with your course confirmation if you have paid for your course.

Can I claim courses through my private health fund?

Yes. Some health funds do cover first aid training. Please contact your provider directly to check if your coverage includes first aid training.

Is a course tax deductible?

If you are completing your course for work purposes you can claim the expenses of the course in your tax return.
