Course Overview
The CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services is a nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals seeking to work in roles that involve the delivery, management, and coordination of person-centred services to individuals, groups, and communities. This course prepares learners to operate with a high level of autonomy and professional responsibility within the community services sector.
Community services workers in this field possess specialised skills and knowledge to support clients in improving their personal and social wellbeing. They may work independently under broad guidance from senior management and may be responsible for supervising other staff and volunteers. Graduates may also engage in case management, service coordination, and program delivery across a range of community-based settings.
Throughout the course, you will develop practical and theoretical skills required to work effectively in the sector. You will learn how to empower individuals and communities, manage complex client needs, and contribute meaningfully to positive social outcomes.
As part of the course, you must complete a minimum of 200 hours of practical work placement in a relevant community services organisation. This hands-on experience allows you to apply your knowledge in real-world settings and gain valuable industry insights.
Upon successful completion, you will be equipped to pursue roles such as case manager, community services coordinator, or team leader within a variety of community-focused organisations.
